Judita Matyasova is a journalist with the major Czech newspaper, Lidové noviny. Matyášová is a graduate of Josef Škvorecký Literary Academy. She is the co-author, along with photographer Jan Jindra, on the project, Journeys with Franz Kafka. They published a book with the same name, which includes Judita´s 70 reportage texts about places in whole Europe, where Kafka used to travel. Her most recent book, Friendship In Spite of Hitler, was published by the Czech publishing house, Mladá fronta. Danish version of book will be published by Vandkunsten Copenhagen. Judita regularly presents her story at presentations and lectures, for example at Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem Jerusalem, Jewish Museum Stockholm, Anglo-American University Prague
Natasha Dudinski – Film director, Cinematographer
Born in Czechoslovakia, she lives in Jerusalem. She studied languages at Charles University in Prague, international relations at Columbia University in New York and film at the Sam Spiegel Film and TV School in Jerusalem. Her films were broadcast on Czech TV, Israeli TV, CBC, PBS, ZDF/Arte and awarded several prizes at international film festivals. She is the director, cinematographer and co-writer of the film "Into the North" about the Czech Jewish children saved by Denmark and Sweden during the WWII.
Jan Macola – Film producer
Studied international relations at FSV Charles University Prague and Universite Libre de Bruxelles. He worked for five years as Head of Co-productions and Development and Head of Marketing at the Barrandow Studios in Prague. In 2012, Macola founded the Mimesis Film production company. Its main focus is on the creation of both feature and documentary films. The most recent film he produced, "The Way Out", directed by Petr Vaclav, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Žaneta Vávrová – Project manager
She studied Marketing Communications at Tomas Bata University Zlin and has been pursuing a degree in Arts Managment at VŠE Prague. She has been working as a gallery manager since 2009 for Prinz Prager Gallery. She has organized Czech and international exhibition projects, for example the exhibition of Alfons Mucha, Jiří Georg Dokoupil and others. She is responsible for organizing the exhibition project "Sophie´s Choice / The Czech Way“ and also for co-ordinating lectures and other forms of presentation.
Petr Šraier – Researcher, historian
Graduate of the Czech History at Faculty of Arts, University of West Bohemia. Currently a student of history at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University and Oral History at the Faculty of Humanity Studies. His long term interest lies in mapping the Czech Jewish lives, especially children and young people abroad.
Jan Jindra – Photographer
A graduate of Prague Film Academy FAMU, Department of Photography. He has created several photographic cycles and exhibited them all around the world. His main exhibition collection is Journeys of Franz K., which presents photos from all places, which the famous Czech-German writer, Franz Kafka visited. Jan is a lecturer at Tomas Bata University, Zlin. He has created collection of portraits of survivors for our project, "Sophie´s Choice / The Czech Way".
Rachael Cerrotti – Photojournalist
A descendant of one of the „teens“ who spent the war in Denmark. Rachael studied photography and communication at Temple University, Boston, USA. She works as a photojournalist. She collaborates on our project as a photojournalist.
